Summary

The Desktop Deployment Engineer provides support to clients of Technology Associates. It requires the ability to work in multiple different environments on many different hardware and software platforms. In this position, the Desktop Deployment Engineer works on their own with only general supervision. They will complete Desktop/Laptop Deployment projects and will be interfacing directly with customers of all sizes. This resource must have hands-on deployment and configuration experience with Windows 7-Windows 10, and have a good understanding of the functional differences between Windows 10 vs. legacy versions. Working hours other than the standard weekday hours will be required from time to time. Travel is mostly local with occasional trips to other locations in NC.

Duties & Responsibilities

•             Responsible for successfully installing new and/or rebuilding existing PCs for clients, including configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.

•             Works with clients to troubleshoot and resolve any deployment challenges.

•             Creates, tests, validates and deploys images as needed.

•             Documents, updates, and maintains images to keep current, along with driver packages.

•             Ensures all documentation is properly maintained and updated in a timely manner.

•             Provides timely verbal and written communications with clients, vendors, and staff.

•             Ensures a high-level of customer satisfaction by following procedures properly and completely.

•             Continues to improve technical and customer service skills through continuing education and certifications.

Qualifications

•             Minimum 2-3 years experience in a closely related position doing imaging and desktop deployments.

•             Past history of proven results (the 'go-to guy/gal' who thrives on a challenge!)

•             Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft licensing.

•             Knowledge of PC hardware for simple tasks such as RAM upgrades and video card upgrades.

•             Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and common protocols.

•             Practical knowledge of O365/M365 and Outlook configuration and management.

•             Practical knowledge of Windows user profile data migrations.

•             Imaging and scripting knowledge preferred but not required.
